CrossFlow Extreme..

I am gonna try and build a new comp for Neweggs Lanfest modcontest.
They have 2 catagories, Looks and Performance and i want to enter both.

For my comp I am gonna build a CrossFlow case and the hardware i HAVE to use is
Biostar Tforce SLI 570mobo (has 24 pin power in its center so I can hide all the wiring)($40 at Newegg)
AMD FX-62 (only $150 at Newegg)
2 gigs Crucial Tracers 800 (4-4-4-12)(oohhh blinky lights $40 rebate)
I think I will use 2 of my WD 160Gigs hdds (16mb cache) bigger than my laptop hdds but faster in Raid0
Same water cooling as PDX10
I am going with the PC Power&Cooling 510 with the external voltage rail adjusters
2 XFX 8800GTs in SLI

I need your advise on OC ing and the case, please let me know what you do/dont like and what you would change.

I am not putting this thread on any other forums as I feel we know each other enough to be honest (and you guys ROCK!)

Time is ticking and I need to go fast with this as I only have 2 weeks. So pick apart my design and let me know what you would think is better/more effecient

Also what do you think about the iMON on the front, is it needed or just in the way?

Please get all TeamNexGen involved, Lets go kick their ASSES!!!!

Re: Need ur help for Newegg LAN Oct 5-7

I can be too focused on things and really want others opinions-

one example is case finish, black, red, green, plain alum, flat black, really shiny, graphics, etc...

should i be using all Koolance?

I really want to know what all of you think...

Mark

On the looks sometimes simple is the best way to go, because to flashy maybe to flashy you want something to stick out how about Red out side and and an alum finish or diamond plate on the inside.. With koolance coolant I think i remember travis telling me you can mix there coolant see if you can get a nice purple color.. Humm give koolance a shoot iam going to..

I would recommend koolance for high performance especially if overclocked...you are going to be overclocked right?

i bet you will not get more than a 1 to 2 c diff in any Koolance, DD, EK, or Switech block if you use their latest generation compared to latest generation. Mark use what you think looks and fits best bro. If you are going Kooance (as I always say) go all Koolance. They do look nice and all match if you use the latest full coverage blocks. The same can be said of DD and EK. Now, maybe SOMEONE will be able to help sponsor your build . . .decide which way u wanna go and then hit em up for a full set of H20 hardware for THIS paticular build.

Re: Need ur help for Newegg LAN Oct 5-7

That is very true, the style of the blocks need to match the build if you are to win a case mod. We are currently testing to see how most top end blocks are going to perform and so far we have a maze 4, and dtek fuzion(vortex xp and the maze 5 are the same block), a koolance 330, and a swiftech storm (nothing new from them in awhile). But since only one of these company's use a edm one of them is going to perform way better under high loads i know who my bets are on. Yay for aluminum tops

That is the plan this time, I hope to have this comp up and running by the end of this week (Il make the case last) so I can work the bugs out and get a good OC with the FX62. (so im definitely gonna need help with that)

I would like to go with Koolance (smaller hoses smaller blocks) its concept in water cooling is closer to mine but I will have no $$ and even less time for waiting on shipping and stuff.

I also would like to go with DD but its bulkier (bigger hoses, blocks) dont really go with my design.

And to DB I do appreciate Dans kindness at DD (a LOT) but I feel strongly that I need to go my way while modding. When you align yourself with a company you end up following their guidelines not your own.

I hate having sponsors as I feel the need to pander to them..I first felt this when I was in my first mod contest at Ultra, I felt like I had to be a "UltraGuy" or I wouldnt get picked (probably my own insecurity), my comp had more votes than 2nd-5th place combined but I was always worried if mine was good enough.

keep going guys, what about looks/finishes (and the iMON)?

DB, I didnt come here asking for hardware. I am more interested in their thoughts.
Im probably gonna make my own blocks (more refined versions of my PDX10)
