Just buy it from the egg.... or from ncixus.com
to be honest they can almost match all the prices we get from malabs.

Re: Intel BoneTrail X38 Motherboard

hi

I'm about to get one of those BoneTrails myself but I have some questions, which could not be answered by intel tech support!!! I wonder, do they know this board?!
They couldn't confirm which FireWire controller is used in this mobo, I know is Texas Instruments and I know it's PCI, not Express. However, I wanted to know the exact model but they couldn't tell.
Manuals do refer the Marvell controller model, the HD Audio controller model, I could (I think) see somewhere the sensor chip (ITE) and LPCIO from NS. Can anyone confirm these models?
Another thing, I saw some screenshots of the BIOS for the memory settings and timings, I see 1600MHz support there. They said it wasn't supported by this mobo in any BIOS version, can anyone confirm? Did I see wrong?
Also, I'd like someone post some screenshots of the processor/PSB oc'ing options, I believe for Intel it's a percentage, upto 30%, of the rated PSB. Can anyone elaborate on this?

Thanx

Re: Intel BoneTrail X38 Motherboard

The Bonetrail Does support 1600MHz FSB and is designed for the 45nm Quad core CPU's Specifically the QX9770 @ 3.2GHZ 1600MHZ FSB 12MB cache

Intel has made several BIOS updates to enhance stability and Overclocking features.

I will dig up the Bonetrail board and get back to you.

The Bios shots that we uploaded were from the pre-release Alpha Engineering Sample

Re: Intel BoneTrail X38 Motherboard

I guess the BoneTrail 2 will not surface before March or so.
It should be a long wait still, specially here where things come only later...
I'm off to pick the BT today or tomorrow, I was hoping to see some more info and BIOS shots but I guess I won't go wrong with it!!
FSB1600 support is good news, from BIOS shots DDR3 1600 is also supported, contrary to Intel initial information. Great!
The Wolfdales only now got here so it's time.
My only gripe is that here we don't get to see a lot of DDR3 modules, only Kingston KVR, Corsair expensive as hell, CellShock even worse, and now finally OCX ReaperX at some more affordable 260€ or so.
Anyway, has anyone heard of those hacked nVidia drivers that are supposed to enable SLI on the X38 and other intel chipsets? Long time no news about it, maybe the nice people working on it quit trying?
