none speedfan is near useless when it comes to temps.

yup, on the QX6700 the on DIE thermocouple doesn't like to read below zero :P

but speedfan can read the CPU temp from BIOS

socket temps are no longer used :P

rather an algorithm used by the BIOS to calculate the temp based on electrical resistance in a particular area of each die and than averaged between each core.

well other than the fact that the bios apparently doesnt recognize vast negative temps, that would make sense. how ever its still only accurate to the average not the actual. CPUID pc wizard just makes a better temp/voltage monitoring tool overall anyway. Just wish there wasnt so much overhead.
