Re: What's the coldest liquid temperatureanyone has ever run though a Koolance CPU-33
Ok. So now I have everything except my radiator(s). But I have an important question. I went into Lowes to purchase some parts. I came out with 10x #8 hose clamps and 2x 1/2" > 1/2" barb (splicer) fittings. Essentially, it is a (symmetrical) double-ended 1/2" barb fitting. But the thing is, it's brass. I just want to know if that's a problem or not. I couldn't find anything else to do what I want. I intend to expand two (1/2") holes in one of the air vents on the back of my server, and pass my coolant lines through them. Actually, these double-ended barbs (splicers) will fit in those holes. They have a lip at the halfway point between the ends of the splicer. So the idea is to pass both units into the case from the outside, allowing the lip in the middle to keep the units from passing all the way through. I then intend to secure the barbed splicers in place, by attaching the inside coolant hoses to them. The face of the hoses on the inside will hold the splicers in place (with the raised lips against the outside of the case) by the hose clamps on my inside hoses.
But I need to know if there's going to be a problem with corrosion due to dissimilar metals being used?
BTW. I also purchased a gallon of denatured alcohol to mix with my coolants. Most of the water that is present, will be diluted just enough to keep the coolants from being flammable. I think I have enough other ingredients to make everything perfectly safe. So how much corrosion would I expect from a very strong antifreeze solution?
Speak up folks!

ps. I really have to tell you guys, this looks very cool (pardon the pun) with four Koolance CPU-330s on the board, and using 1/2" ID heater hose!! Just too damn cool!!
