I am now beginning my liquid cooling project. I eventually want to experiment with super-cold refrigerants (in a closed loop system), and want to know if I will need to replace the CPU-330s or not?

Also of note. I would like to know about tubing selection for using very cold liquids?
T <= -100*C

This is for a Non-stop server. So the primary concern here is durability.

Just hope you have condensation under control, as for the temperature tolerances, ill take some measurements from +20c to -200c and see what the block endures.

Something else I am curious about. The Swiftech 655 is listed as only operating down to 32*F. If that is it's real limitation, what pumps are any of you using for very cold fluids? Has anyone else built a system for nonstop usage running with very cold fluids?

a while back i ran the 330 block at -30c with a blend of Koolance fluid and blue antifreeze rated to -120F I used a PMP-400 and it ran flawless for several weeks.

After I was done benching I dismantled the system and inspected the hardware, there was no damage I could find.

That's awesome! What were you using as a circuit configuration, I mean for the fluid? Did you have to do anything special to get that temperature? What kind of radiator setup did you use?

I finally got to the place of being really tired of my slow system. I am running twin sockets with AMD 2210s. I have 4Gbs of memory as well. But I am really stressing performance here. I run Firefox, and currently have nearly 180 tabs open. That alone consumes a lot of resources. Part of the problem also is that the second fan I have in my system doesn't allow the first stick of memory sitting next to it to be properly seated. So I am actually only registering 3Gs. The only way for me to fix this, was to go liquid cooling. So here I am now, and full on.

I'm just guessing I'm going to see a big change in things. If from nothing else than the fact that I also ordered another 4Gs of memory. So we'll wait and see!

Condensation is dependent on your ambient humidity. So just make sure your numbers account for the semi-extreme. A good temp would be about +45F. Else you're asking for trouble. Remember, even marginal sub ambient temps will improve your cooling efficiency at least 200%.

Any condensation and you'll have a bad time, at least at some point in a production environment.

I intend to fully coat the board as I have seen advised in many places. Basically sealing the board with some form of doping material. So condensation should be eliminated as a problem.

This wasn't actually on my agenda. But do any of you know if the Tyan s3992 board can be overclocked? It just seems like a waste to go through all of this and not overclock if it is possible.
