Re: Striker overclocking
Travis 3.6 gigs now I would like to get up to like 3.9-4 gigs for bench marks
This is what I have gotten so far now things to me just are not making sense.
I know this board has a bad Vcore Drop but does that include the NB and SB as well?
and some of these settings I have no Clue what they are and these are
*1.2v Ht Voltage is this a bridge from northbridge to the ram? or something
*CPU VTT What the hell is this but allpages I have visted said to set this at 1.55v
*LDT Frequency

Re: Striker overclocking
ok HT is hyper transport. It's what the Northbridge and the southbridge use to communicate. It can almost never go over a set amount (it's the exact same thing as the hyper transport for AMD) which is usually 1000mhz but in some cases(i believe for the striker) is as high as 2000mhz.
As there is no real way to check how high it is, more voltage is generally better. Leave the memory to auto, it wont help your overclock. The HT frequency usually matches the un pumped fsb, so 1066 fsb is 266 internal clock(which matches that ht frequency). The LDT frequency is the multiplier used for the ht. so 266x5 is the actual ht frequency. Lowering this down to 4 or 3 may help.
CPU VTT is the termination voltage (VolTage Termination), it reduces the number of false electrical signals by providing a form of "ground" to pull out these false currents.

Re: Striker overclocking
Good. that should make things a little bit easier. what would be alot easier is to just join the ATI side of things and go with a chipset that actually likes to overclock.

Re: Striker overclocking
lol crossfire scales better, SLI really hasnt gone through any real revisions (neither has the hardware, or the sli drivers). ATI just needs a top performing card.
