processor predicament
does anyone know where i could get a good 478 socket p4 processor? i'm looking to do 2 more upgrades before getting rid of it. does anyone know where i could look? (i would have tried ebay but ever since the laptop issue i've been a bit leery about getting electronic stuff from there)

well, i'm basically trying to baby it along untill i get sufficient money to make a complete custom build. THEN i'll be in buisiness, but untill then i'll have to just do cheap upgrades to keep it somewhat up to par (new processor here, some overclocking there, etc...)

lol I wish I could find one to because I got the first xps that uses that cpu and mine went by by DAMN CAT HAIR and my fault for not cleaning intake and out takes lol... And I just upgraded to 2 gigs in it lol.. Oh well my fault...

well, if you're willing to give ebay a shot, i found a 3.2 ghz HT that's supposed to be based on 478 for about 30 bucks. i think it's just the chip though, there was also a 3.06 celeron D and a few lower speed p4's (1.4-2.8) lol

yeah, i may just decide to get some of my stuff from there later on now that i think of it because i'm quickly realizing how rare some things are becoming for old hardware which is a bummer for all my projects (like seeing how far i can push a socket A athlon chip in overclocking versus an old p4 of about the same year using only air)
