Problem with Mountain Mods & there circular reservoirs

Hi there

Can anyone help or give advice.

I bought 2 mountain mods circular reservoirs from their web site in the USA.

The first 2 arrived in a really poor state, there were glue marks everywhere and the barb threads were bent. I could not get a good seal around the barbs.

I complained to ben and after him telling me there was nothing wrong with them and about 10 e-mails later he told me he would send 2 new ones out less the fittings as there was no point sending the old back. The old ones are now in the bin as there useless.

Great all I had to pay was half of the P&P

The 2 new reservoirs arrived, much better than the last. They looked great until I filled them with liquid.....!

The first 1 leaked within seconds & the other a drip every 60 seconds or so.

I sent ben an e-mail again to state that the next 2 leaked. NO REPLY

I returned the leaking reservoirs tracked, they arrived 08-09-2008. 2 e-mails later and still NO REPLY from them.

So I decided to call mountain mods to see what they’re going to do about it. There answer was nothing, there doing nothing about it.

I paid in total now $140 ($117.98 + about 20$ towards shipping for the other 2).

The first 2 ben says there is nothing wrong and that’s how I or anyone else should expect these reservoirs.

Well if you think these are fine then I don’t want anything to do with MM again.

I don’t have pictures of the leaking ones.

Does anyone know where I stand?

katiephil

I see what u are talking about in a way... I dont know if you are fully aware how acrylic glue works? How the glue works is it melts the two acrylic pieces together.. These look like either 1 of 2 things way to much was used or the sun got to it.. Since there is no pics of the sec set my only suggestion is be cauious on how u approach ben on the product (his feelings can be hurt pretty easy) I understand your side cause I have been there aswell with different companies. Give ben another try just approach it a different way.. And if still nothing well try to fix it yourself it should be pretty easy to do....

Re: Problem with Mountain Mods & there circular reservoirs

Ben sent me an e-mail last night advising he would make 2 new reservoirs for me.

This is great as my lian li v2000 has been cut to accommodate the reservoirs so am stuck without them.

The reservoirs in the picture are apparently the v2 version (new glue) as the v1's had a 2% fail rate according to MM. I does look like too much glue was used, they are going to be on show in my case so not ideal plus could not get a good seal around the barbs.

The replacements that were sent to replace the above used the old glue (v1) they leaked.

Well after a few e-mails and telephone calls I am happy as my build can be finally completed.

Just waiting now on 2 new ones.

as the saying goes

All's Well That Ends Well

you really need to post pics of your build. NG has had issues with ben in the past, but to my understanding he is just a really busy guy. kinda like beavis before a lan.
